This holiday weekend has a lot of meaning to many. Depending on your viewpoint, it could be:
- the end of summer
- the start of fall
- the beginning of football season
- the start of a new school year
- a relaxing three day weekend away from work
But to me, what’s special about today is that it marks 100 days until the Santa Crawl.
Consider this the official announcement of my favorite event during the Xmas holiday season, the State College Santa Crawl. 2017 will be the 14th year of the Santa Crawl. It’s grown from a small gathering of friends into State College’s largest adult charitable gathering during the holidays. The event will be pretty much the same as it has been in past years (when you’ve got a good think going, why mess with success?). We expect close to a thousand revelers to join us as we frolic about the streets and alleys of downtown State College. There will be a couple of minor tweaks to the itinerary (as always there will be approximate 17 bars participating). We’ll once again be raising money for the College of Communications Pat Boland Memorial Internship Award. But most of all, we will have a grand ole good time.
So tear yourself away from your first football weekend celebration just long enough to mark your calendar for Saturday Dec 9th, 2017.
Details will be trickling out over the next few months. To keep up with them follow or subscribe to us via our website (www.theSantaCrawl.com), Facebook (State College Santa Crawl), or Twitter (@SCSantaCrawl).
Ho Ho Ho. See you in 100 days.
