100% of the funds raised by selling wristbands for the Santa Crawl go to charity. Santa Crawl organizers and bar partners absorb all of the incidental costs associated with the event.
The specific charity the event goes to is the Pat Boland Memorial Internship Fund, run by the Penn State College of Communications. Pat was a graduate of Penn State who worked as a radio newsman and sports announcer in the local State College Area for two decades. He tragically past away in 2011 after a long fight against lung cancer. He often participated in the Santa Crawl so raising funds in his memory was a logical choice.
Sadly, we learned today that Pat’s father, Richard, passed away earlier this week. Services and a viewing will be held tomorrow in Central City PA. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Boland family.
